Gundi Gabrielle — the author and educator behind the SassyZenGirl brand and the GoldenBestseller publishing program — partnered with Lead Gen Jay on a full cold-email and AI-automation buildout. GoldenBestseller helps coaches, speakers, and experts turn their expertise into a #1 bestselling book, and the goal here was simple: reach published authors and experts at scale, qualify every reply with AI, and drive the interested ones into her publishing webinar.
It's a notoriously hard audience to reach with cold outreach — authors and experts guard their inboxes and tune out generic pitches. Winning here meant pairing real sending infrastructure with enrichment and AI that could pinpoint genuine authors and respond to every reply intelligently.
What We Built
- Cold-email infrastructure — 100+ mailboxes provisioned on her GoldenBestseller domains, warmed, and connected in Email Bison for sending at scale.
- An author-verification enrichment system — because her ICP had to separate published authors from non-authors, every single contact was researched against Amazon, Goodreads, Google Books, and the open web (via Perplexity Sonar Pro) and labeled AUTHOR or NOT AUTHOR with a one-line reason, so the list could be split cleanly.
- A custom AI reply system in n8n that read, categorized, and answered every inbound reply (below).
- A software lead magnet to hook prospects at the top of the funnel (below).
The AI Reply System
We built a custom "Gundi – Bison Auto Reply" workflow in n8n that handled the inbox automatically. Every inbound reply was read, summarized, and categorized as interested, soft-no, or hard-no. Interested replies were tagged, marked, and answered with a tailored response driving the prospect to her webinar; hard-no replies were automatically blacklisted so the list stayed clean.

The Lead Magnet: Discover Your Bestseller Angle
To pull prospects into the funnel, we built a software lead magnet at bestsellerangle.com. A prospect enters their LinkedIn URL and gets three strategically positioned nonfiction book angles tailored to their expertise, career, and industry — in about 15 seconds, with no login. It's a low-friction, high-relevance hook for exactly the audience the campaign was built to reach.

For a cold audience of authors and experts — one of the harder personas in B2B outreach — a 6.21% reply rate with 40 hand-raisers is a strong result, and it gave the AI reply system a steady stream of conversations to qualify and route into the webinar.
In Her Own Words: The First Sale
The clearest proof is Gundi's own words. On May 29, unprompted, she wrote:
"Already had a sale yesterday! - out of 3 webinar signups!"
In the same thread she called the build "basically the most advanced, coolest publishing app (+training) on the planet" — and that first sale came from the very first webinar signups, with plenty of runway still ahead.
