Clay Table Builder
AI System · Clay Tables + Enrichment + Lead Lists

Describe the Clay table. Your agent builds it.

Clay's API can't build a table. This can. Your agent creates it, loads your leads, adds enrichment and AI columns, and asks before it spends credits.

Build me a Clay table of dental clinic owners in Texas from this CSV. Clean up the first names and company names, check every email, and add a column that writes a one-line opener from each clinic's website.

What it builds

Stop building Clay tables one column at a time

Clay's official API searches and enriches. Building the table is still your job. This system builds it from one message and agrees the cost with you before any column runs.

The old way

Building every table by hand

  • Create each table in the Clay editor, then add the columns one by one.
  • Rebuild the same name cleanup and email checks on every new list.
  • Clay's API loads rows only through a custom setup, one row at a time.
  • Start a full run and find out what it cost afterward.
  • Export by hand, then fix the columns that came out wrong.
The new system

Your agent builds the whole table

  • Your agent creates the table and every column from one plain message.
  • Tested recipes add the columns you use on every list, the same way every time.
  • It loads a full CSV of leads, matched to the right columns.
  • It tests new columns on five rows and shows you the credit cost first.
  • It exports the finished list to a clean CSV when you are done.

Works inside your own Clay workspace, signed in as you. It writes only to the folder you pick, so the rest of your tables stay untouched.

What Clay lets you automate

Clay's API can search and enrich. It cannot build a table.

Clay released an official API and CLI in July 2026. They handle search, enrichment and routines. Building the table itself is left out. Here is where each one stops.

This system

  • Yes: Build a new table
  • Yes: Add enrichment and AI columns
  • Yes: Load your lead list into a table
  • Yes: Run columns across your table
  • Yes: Edit and export rows
  • Yes: Find people and companies

Clay's official API and CLI

  • No: Build a new table
  • No: Add enrichment and AI columns
  • Limited: Load your lead list into a table
  • No: Run columns across your table
  • Limited: Edit and export rows
  • Yes: Find people and companies

means it can do part of the job.

It runs through your own logged-in account and uses the same calls the Clay web app makes. It is unofficial, so Clay can change it or may not allow it, and you use it on your own account at your own risk.

What's inside

Everything packed into the AI system

This isn't a prompt you paste. It's the tool that builds Clay tables from your own login, plus the rules that stop your agent from spending credits you never approved.

The table builder

The command-line tool your agent runs to create tables, add columns, load rows, run them and export the results.

The credit rules

Every paid run shows its cost and waits for your yes. AI and waterfall columns stop at 10 rows a run.

Ready-made recipes

Tested column sets your agent adds to any table in one step, instead of rebuilding them on every list. Finished leads can go straight to Instantly or EmailBison.

Guided setup

Connect your Clay login once and pick the one folder your agent is allowed to write in.

Preview before every change

Your agent shows you each change before it writes anything, and deleting a table needs its exact name.

Each play turns one buying signal into one opening line. Tell Claude which play you want, and it builds the Clay table with you step by step, stopping for your OK before anything costs credits. New in Clay CLI 0.6.0.
